Magnus is a classic prairie perennial with big, flat, rosy-purple petals around a bronze-orange cone. Pollinators love it in summer, and goldfinches strip the seed heads in fall, so we often tell customers to leave the spent flowers standing. It tolerates heat, some drought, and lean soil once it has rooted in, which makes it one of the least fussy plants we grow. Plant a few in a group for the best show and pair them with ornamental grasses or black-eyed Susans. Each plant ships with a healthy root system and is ready for the ground right away.
